She asks her parents if she can walk… Dary waves goodbye happily, sure there will be no problem walking on her own. She is joyfully crunching leaves below her feet when suddenly a dog begins barking loudly from behind a wall! "Is it going to jump at me?" Dary wonders. Her heart beats fast, and she runs quickly back the way she came. When she is safely away from the barking dog, Dary stops to catch her breath. She imagines the dog has huge, sharp… "I will have to be brave and run as fast as I can past the dog’s house," she thinks. This time, the dog’s bark is much louder! Once again, Dary turns around and runs back the way she came. Her heart is pounding faster than ever before! When she is safely away from the barking dog, Dary stops to catch her breath again. She imagines the dog growling at… "Is there any way to get past that dog?" she wonders again. Then she gets another idea! She will have to be extra… Dary walks slowly and quietly down the street, hoping the dog won’t notice her this time. Suddenly, the dog jumps… But it is not mean, or ready to bite her. It is just a puppy! The puppy sits down and wags its tail to say hello. "I sure feel silly for being so afraid of a puppy!" Dary says to herself. Now Dary runs down the street once more. But this time, it’s because she’s playing with her new friend. When Dary arrives at her grandfather’s house at last, this time she is the one telling Grandpa a story. Generously supported by SMART. The Way to Grandpa’s House Sin Sinat

Today, Dary would like to go to her Grandpa’s house to hear one of his stories. She asks her parents if she can walk there all by herself. "Are you sure you are brave enough?" her father asks. "Yes! I am ready," Dary replies.

Dary waves goodbye happily, sure there will be no problem walking on her own.

She is joyfully crunching leaves below her feet when suddenly a dog begins barking loudly from behind a wall!

"Is it going to jump at me?" Dary wonders. Her heart beats fast, and she runs quickly back the way she came.

When she is safely away from the barking dog, Dary stops to catch her breath. She imagines the dog has huge, sharp teeth and mean eyes. "How will I ever get past that dog?" she wonders.

"I will have to be brave and run as fast as I can past the dog’s house," she thinks.

This time, the dog’s bark is much louder!

Once again, Dary turns around and runs back the way she came. Her heart is pounding faster than ever before!

When she is safely away from the barking dog, Dary stops to catch her breath again. She imagines the dog growling at her and ready to bite!

"Is there any way to get past that dog?" she wonders again. Then she gets another idea! She will have to be extra brave . . .

Dary walks slowly and quietly down the street, hoping the dog won’t notice her this time. Suddenly, the dog jumps right out in front of her!

But it is not mean, or ready to bite her. It is just a puppy!

The puppy sits down and wags its tail to say hello.

"I sure feel silly for being so afraid of a puppy!" Dary says to herself.

Now Dary runs down the street once more. But this time, it’s because she’s playing with her new friend.

When Dary arrives at her grandfather’s house at last, this time she is the one telling Grandpa a story.
