McGaiver the Galactic Taxi Driver Hegra Al-Sawi
It has been a long day for Max the Taxi Driver. He has been carrying passengers from galaxy to galaxy for light years and is ready to go see his family. Max is just about to turn for his home planet when he notices something in the back of his taxi.
It is a small present! One of his passengers must have left it behind. Max wonders which one it might have been. "It could belong to the old man who complained I was driving too fast."
"He was traveling to the Milky Way galaxy, it isn't very far to his planet. I'll just swing by on my way home." Max turns his space taxi around and, vroom! Off he goes.
When Max knocks on the door of the old man's house, a little boy comes out. "Excuse me," Max says, "I dropped off an old man here earlier. I think he may have left this box in my taxi." The boy calls out, "Grandpa! That driver you were talking about is here!" Max is relieved, thinking the old man must be the owner of the box.
But the old man comes running out of the house with a stick. "Is that you taxi driver? The one who rushes through the stars so fast my back could have broken! I've been warning my family never to take your taxi!" Max jumps right into his space taxi and speeds away as fast as he can.
"Since the box doesn't belong to the old man, who else could have left it?" Max wonders. "Perhaps it was the nice man I took to the supermarket on Jupiter. He was planning to go to the Andromeda Galaxy later."
"That is millions of light years away, but maybe I can catch up to him. My space taxi is pretty fast!"
Before Max could even knock on the door of the nice man's house, it bursts open. Three young creatures run out and tackled him. "Hey, who are you?" one yells."Did you bring something for us?" another shouts, trying to take the box. "Let's ask Dad if he can stay and play!" the third suggests.
When their father appears, he recognizes Max and his taxi, and says hello. But the box does not belong to him either. Max makes a quick escape before the children can catch him again.
Who else could have left the box? "Maybe it was the robot who was going to visit his home planet in the Triangulum Galaxy?" Max wonders.
"The Triangulum Galaxy is out of my way. If I go there, I may be late for dinner. But I must find the owner of this box." So Max turns his space craft once more and, vroom! Off he goes.
But the box does not belong to the robot either! As he is leaving the atmosphere of the robot planet, Max remembers the Earth children who were going to collect diamonds from Saturns rings. "Maybe they put some diamonds in this box?" Max thinks.
Max powers up the space taxi and off he goes. Vroom!
He gets a chance to relax once he reaches the space elevator that will carry his taxi down to Earth.
But when he arrives at the children's home, their mother is angry to learn they had skipped school to go to Saturn. "This box does not belong to my children," she says. As he zooms away, Max hears her say, "No more space trips for you the rest of this month!"
It was now so late that Max had no choice but to fly home before he fell asleep in his taxi." I will have to start looking for the owner of the box again tomorrow," Max says with a yawn.
Max is about to fall asleep on the couch when he is awakened by the joyful sound of his children." Dad, you're home!" they shout. "Did you like your present?"
"What?" Max says, feeling very surprised. "This warm hat is for me?" "Yes!" his wife answers. "It will keep you warm on long trips and remind you of us." "Thank you so much," Max replies. "You are the best family a space taxi driver could ask for!"
